Hello! I’m Bridget and this is my second submission. I’m 5’5”, roughly 170 pounds, and I need your help !
I’m taking a class right now called Arts and social change. For my final I need to create some sort of project or activity to raise awareness about a social issue I feel strongly about. I decided to focus on the fact that so many girls have terrible self esteem and body image issues.
I’m planing to print out pictures of real women and go to grocery stores, book stores, etc all over San Francisco and stick them inside magazines like Seventeen and Teen Vogue. When girls buy them they’ll get a nice little reminder that the women in the magazines aren’t what women really look like and, most importantly, they don’t have to look like them to be beautiful. I’ll probably include a little message on the back like “You don’t need to be a size 0 to to be beautiful. Love your body, love yourself.”
I was originally going to use pictures of plus size models but even those are photoshopped and air brushed. I would much rather use pictures like the ones here. Pictures of YOU!
If any of you like the sound of this and want to help me out I would really appreciate it. All I need is a decent quality picture of you looking fierce! All I ask is that they aren’t webcam or cell phone pictures and that you’re fully clothed.
