Hi! This is me at my friends’ wedding. The bride asked me to be a cigar girl at the reception, and requested that I wear this outfit. I was incredibly nervous to wear something so form-fitting in such a setting, but I did it, and I felt amazing!

I’m 186 lbs, and the shorts I’m wearing are size 15—the largest size pants I’ve ever worn; and I looked damn good. Beauty isn’t in size or shape, it’s in confidence. For the last year or so, I’ve been doing a lot of work to boost up my self-esteem and learn to love my body not in spite of my weight, but because of it. Wearing this outfit for everyone to see every curve of my body felt like the culmination of a lot of self work, and it meant a lot to me. 

You’re all so beautiful and lovely and strong; thanks for creating a space where we can all use each other’s strength until we have enough to support ourselves and stand proud.
